Prevention Cohort LIVE Ep 11: 10-year-olds on social media in virtual reality, AI, Stickers, AI Art, Smart Glasses, and more
Welcome to the Prevention Cohort LIVE stream, sponsored by PBJ Learning
Today we acknowledge the Meta Connect 2023 conference, their change to let 10-year-olds use VR, and QUICKLY go over some of the Meta website that explains what parents need to know.
FULL DISCLOSURE: While Radical Empathy uses the Meta Quest headset to deliver their virtual reality experience to educate people about human trafficking, they do not require trainees to have a Meta account, a Facebook account, or internet connectivity in any way. They also do not track any user data from the application in any way.
I try to get across the danger of letting your children have access to the internet, and how SOCIAL MEDIA is dangerous to a child's mental health. I pull up this article from the Department of Health and Human Services: “Surgeon General Issues New Advisory About Effects Social Media Use Has on Youth Mental Health.”
The article, “Being Social Online Makes You Lonely Offline,” from my daughter.
Parent information from Meta… “Meta Quest Safety Information for Parents and Pre-teens.”
We record these meetings so you can watch them as a bit of an extra resource for yourself.
AI Summary
We livestream, record and share our meetings for everyone's benefit. We use a Zoom addon product called Fathom, which screenshares, transcribes, and provides AI summaries of the calls. The transcriptions aren't perfect, but they are way awesome. This summary of the meeting is pulled straight from the automatic notes from Fathom.
Yes, we know what Zoom does with the data. Ugh. It proves our whole point from episode 7.

Here's to the fearless advocates who dare to be different. fighters, the champions against human trafficking. The unsung heroes and the shadows.
They are the ones who perceive the world through a different lens. reject the confines of the vital norms and regulations.
They challenge the status quo with unwavering determination. The voices may be quoted, opinions disputed, and their character both praised and criticized.
But one thing is certain. They cannot be overlooked. They are catalysts for change. They pioneer new solutions. They envision a world free from the clutches of human trafficking.
They mend broken lives. They embark on perilous journeys to rescue the vulnerable. They innovate. They inspire. They propel humanity forward.
Perhaps it takes a touch of medicine. How else can one look at a victim and envision the liberation or listen to the silence of suffering and compose an anthem of hope or gaze upon a dark underworld and see a battleground for justice?
We stand beside these exceptional individuals, while some may deem them as eccentric ones, we recognize their brilliance, because those who possess the audacity to believe they can end human trafficking are the ones who ultimately achieve it.
I'll talk about the age being dropped from 13 to 10. I use the Meta Quest headset as way to get people to understand how human trafficking can happen.
Our headset, this is my dev copy, but this is my Oculus Quest headset. We will show you, there are links everywhere, can check out our VR product.
What we're going to be talking about today is using VR as a consumer. We're going talk about it a little bit as a parent, and we're going talk about it a little bit as an educator.
I'm going to be the best I can to see if I can convey my level of concern adequately to people.
I am not a… I'm not very adept at all this, I tried the best I could. Let's get this thing started up.
here we go. Months ago, Facebook announced that they were going to change the age, recommended age for using the Quest headset from 13 down to 10 years old.
SCREEN SHARING: Billy started screen sharing – WATCH
This is… I don't know if you guys are… if you understand the difference between a 13 year old and a 10 year old, but those are completely different animals, their brains work differently.
This is very risky. If you don't have access to a Quest headset, I want you to imagine that you have a device that wants to be on the Internet.
And all of the apps that are on the headset want to be connected to the Internet. They want to have friends work together.
They want to have… on… They want to have chat inside of them. It is a collaborative fun thing to do.
So these devices are trying to connect people. And that's problematic if you're a parent because you don't know what the heck it is that your kid is doing inside of that headset.
You just don't. So I kind of wanted to share a little bit about where I come from. So I'm really concerned about this.
This is really spooky. You know, what you're doing is you're already… if your kid has access to the internet, what that means is the internet has access to your kid.
And so as a parent, you really need to watch what it is that your child is doing online. You need to make sure you know what apps they're installing on their phone.
You want to know what kind of text messaging that they're getting into. It is a lot to have a kid that has access to the internet.
But we're talking about not only having access to the internet, but having access to And to the internet. I'm going to go ahead and just start.
was reading little bit of this stuff. Back in the early 2000s, I was making online games for Facebook. And I know just how dangerous it is for a kid to be online.
I… yeah. So when a kid is online, a kid needs to understand exactly what kind of things are dangerous.
They need to understand if somebody is their friend or is not their friend. the truth is that most of them don't have any idea whatsoever what the heck is going on.
They just think that that's just a person and that somebody that they can trust. thing is that you just can't.
So as a parent, you really need to get educated about this stuff. we have tons of information starting with our human trafficking.
We have a very critical critical critical critical critical critical critical I'm not if you have any questions. I'm I'm sure have any questions.
sure you have any sure if any I'm not sure if have have sure if you have any The car and said, see you later, guy.
They don't know what they're doing. So, this is a point that's been made to me. So basically they started off with Horizon World, which is a massive multiplayer game.
so they started letting you go under 18 to get on that thing. And so now you've got tons of kids that are up on that thing.
I'll have the numbers. You can look it up. Let your Google food work. For you right now. But you'll find out that there are tons of children that are already up on Horizon World.
In fact, that was a couple weeks ago. was with one of my, one of my advisors. And she was, she, we went into Horizon World and found an entire area where they were trying to teach kids how to be talent inside of video games.
And I'm like, it looked sketchy as hell. I don't know. I don't No, good. So the real problem here is basically a complete misunderstanding or a non-understanding of the reality of online grooming.
I've got some courses on this stuff. got articles that are on this. You want to learn what online grooming is, please go up to the search bar, type in grooming.
You'll find out if you click this, you'll get the tag. But basically I found out that grooming was happening constantly.
It was happening to my children and I found out that I didn't know anything about it. So I wound up starting…
I'm entity and then pbjlearning just to try to educate other parents. So let's see. Blah blah blah. Oh yeah.
You know, here's the thing. The Surgeon General actually raised the alarm. So maybe it'll sound better if it's coming from the Surgeon General instead of just from me.
But let me go ahead and do a little bit of this stuff. Surgeon General issues new advisory about effects social media use has on you.
Alright, we'll read a little bit here. media used by young people is nearly universal. Up to 95% of young people ages 13 17, reporting using a social media platform and more than a third, saying they use social media almost constantly.
Left that, sink in. Pause this video and really think about what that means. These kids are being programmed by content from these social media companies.
That means that these social media companies are parenting your children. More than a third, saying they use social media almost constantly.
So, who's parenting your children? With adolescents and childhood representing a critical stage in brain development that can make young people more vulnerable to harm some social media, the surgeon general is issuing a call for urgent action by policymakers.
The researchers' families and young people alike to gain a better understanding of the full impact of social media use.
I can read the rest of it. Let me ask… This is just a social media aspect of this. Have you seen the movies on this stuff?
Let's see. So here we go. common question parents ask, is social media safe for my kids? The answer is we don't have enough evidence to say it's safe.
In fact, there's growing evidence that social media use is associated with harm to young people's mental health. That's not good.
That's not good. And this was in May of this year. So May 23rd, came out. So we had the meta saying that they wanted to lower the age around the same thing.
So it's like, here we go. This is June is when it came out. Surgeon General was complaining in May, so May and then June, and now they're dropping it from June.
I don't know, is the surgeon general the person you want to be listening to? Maybe. So online, here we go.
are exposed to harmful content on social media ranging from violent and sexual content to bullying and harassment. Yeah, that's right.
There's tons of information. I've got videos, everything you want to know on our website. can learn it all. PBJ Learning, Vault.
For too many children, social media use is compromising their sleep. And valuable in-person time with family and friends. How many times have you had a kid running around that they worked interested in talking to you because they were busy on social media?
We are in the middle of a national youth mental health crisis and I'm concerned that social media is an important driver of that crisis, one that we must urge the address.
I mean, this goes on and on and tries to explain the stuff. Research shows that adolescents who spend more than three hours a day on social media face double the risk of experiencing poor mental health.
So, the evidence is there, and that's just social media. And being online, I was going to show you some of these.
My daughter wrote us a blog on the PBJ Learning Knowledge Vault, It's called Being Social Online Makes You Lonely Offline.
And this was, this was again, it's up on the knowledge vault. But this was very difficult for me to read when she turned it in and said, this is what I want to post.
I was not expecting it. So, there is quite a bit in here about her dealing with, you know, suicidal ideation.
So, Social media making her sad, making her to feel lonely. Fact is, people are more connected today than any point in history, but we're lonelier than ever.
4.48 billion active social media users, 90% of 18 to 29 year olds. But some statistics say that around 61% of young adults feel serious loneliness.
Okay, so highly recommend you dig into that. Highly recommend you consider the age of your child if you want to have them on social media at all, which I don't even think I recommend.
And then on top of that, we're going to put them inside of a virtual reality headset in age 10, which is completely made by and made for a social media company to keep your kid connected to other people, which I mean, obviously we've got the surgeon general over here talking about loneliness, my daughter having her own issues, which she brought up and then did her own research.
It's really something else. So, alright, where are we going? Alright, so recently, we'll put them in last couple of days, Meta has released some safety information for parents and free teens, and I got a little letter about it, I got letter in mail, and I'm sorry, an email about it, and I thought, you know, this would be a perfect topic for us to go over on one of our prevention cohort meetings, because this is just super massive.
So, I think I'm going to read some of this, so my apologies, feel free to skip forward if you are bored with me reading it.
The first step to embarking on your VR journey is to make sure you create the right Meta account for yourself, for the members of your family.
Users age 13 plus, which looks like a different by country, so these Meta quests through your Meta So, Meta account is different than a Facebook account, so the Meta quest will let you
She's a Facebook account or a meta account. So that's what they're really talking about here, they're talking about meta accounts.
So now they're saying they'll make it safer for young members of your family to experience VR by launching parent managed accounts that offer parental controls and additional protections for children between 10 and 12 agents, 10 and 12 results.
Check out our blog that provides the details on these new parent managed accounts. So let's see if this is that.
This talks about the accounts, they're starting to roll out as it looks like June. It's earlier than I thought I did not realize they had started that.
So they must now be at a critical mass where they can actually say that everybody's had access to it.
Let's see, today we're announcing changes to get families even more ways to enjoy meta quests. later this year, okay, so this thing came out earlier in June.
parents will be able to set up parent managed meta accounts, etc. So we've just told us it was gonna do that.
That was the special We're was a detail on how to set up an account for your pre-team between 10-12 years old.
We're sure to read our article that we've walked into steps so this is what their steps look like. I haven't done this, so we're all experiencing this for the first time.
Let's see what this is all about. With a parent-managed meta account for children aged 10-12, you're in control of your child's VR experience using a meta-quest headset.
Meta accounts for children are designed with safety and privacy in mind. They won't have the same access to features as people aged 13 or older.
Instead, they'll need to log into their meta-quest headset with a meta account that's managed by a parent or guardian's meta account.
If your child Doesn't have a meta account? You can create one for them in Family Center. You can use Family Center to manage your child's privacy and account settings, like their password, to keep their VR experience enjoyable and safe.
You can also set limits on how much time your child can spend in VR, plus your in control of which apps they can download and play.
When your child reaches the… age of 13, they'll be able to start managing their own meta account. Parental supervision will still be turned on by default, but they'll have the option to change this.
Okay, so… interesting… not much help for us all, is interesting. It looks like a parent will have the ability to turn things on and off,
On the account, everything will depend on how well they implement that, obviously. And then, for some reason, when you hit 13, automatically things change.
I was curious, I wonder if those settings actually change automatically or… know, but… I don't think they should. think those things, uh, need to be able to go ahead and throw that switch themselves.
don't see why medics to decide that, but whatever. All right. Parenting already can create a med… create a management account.
Okay, so this is basically walking through everything who has just learned the video. Um, detailed, detailed, detailed. I'm not going to try to set up this account.
Um, that's not as far beyond where I'm coming from. So let's see, here we go. Um, let's see, parent…
we just looked at… parental supervision. That's what's said. All right. Yeah, I had this already set up. So this got updated.
So this, uh, blog got updated. Parent management accounts for three teams on age 10 to 12 on medicless two and three.
We're getting… I'm going to go ahead and scroll and see what started. Let's see. Create a parent. Okay. What is VR?
Good place to start, It's in a Mertha 3D space. See Child Safety Guidance here. Right? So we're back. Back to the thing that we had seen before.
Apparently, I can't. Do I need to learn more about that? This threw me into the sales page. Hello, go back, please.
Thank you. Uh… where we were. Alright, parental management tool for pre-team. I definitely am curious about this. I'm not, I don't care about setting up an account right now, but I'm curious about these tools that support well-being on parent managed accounts.
sounds great, isn't it? I want to have some well-being on a parent managed meta account. about default settings and available controls that support them.
You healthy VR usage for younger users. I wonder who gets to decide what healthy VR usage is. Alright, set VR time limits and schedule breaks with parental supervision.
can learn, you can limit. You can limit how much time your child, age 10 plus, may vary by region, spends in VR and schedule breaks you.
So the daily time limit, customize the time limit for each day of the week. When your child runs out of juice basically, they give you notification that your device will retard.
can also see a break. Here's how you do all that stuff. Okay, cool. Alright, guess that's that. And we'll control what information you share in a matter.
Yeah, this is pretty important. What information is meta collecting from you? How meta limits usage of data collected from children's meta accounts?
limit the usage data from personal data. By default, meta-quest will only use a child's age, language, appropriate approximate location, personalized, home feed.
Now the home feed with that is that is where they're going to see on their Facebook thing. it's like basically here are all the things.
It's basically the window to their experience. their home feed might include updates and new apps, advertisements, things like that, search results on the meta-quest storage space on their meta device and the meta-quest mobile aperture.
Here, you can use to allow meta to use other types of data to further personalize their experience, which means they're telling.
see more of what's in the fit and interesting and relevant to them. includes data like the app they download and use, they interact with meta-quest features,
Basically, what happens is all these apps have the ability to tell everybody in the world for other apps or advertisers what it is that you're doing constantly.
We limit the use in sharing of data, meta and thought associate the precise location of the Quest device with users between ages of 10 and 12.
We don't allow their… I don't keep saying that. We don't sell user data. I hope they don't. Hard though.
Once that data has gotten back to a publisher or somebody that's running an app, those people often can find ways to sell that data.
It may not have your exact location or your exact identification on it. So you know who you are, but it might say, oh, there are 75, 12-year-olds inside of Houston that used this app yesterday.
So somebody wants to know that information and somebody's going to find a way to sell it, but they may not sell your specific user data.
I don't know how many I was really doing it, so I really can't say it all the way to it.
I'm just saying that once data is out there, you're not in control of anything but people steal data, etc.
If you manage a challenge for that, you have control. Okay, well, I want to believe that. So let's see.
Data will… when you're… okay, I see. This is a good thing. Okay. All right, so far nothing too exciting.
We already went over that. We went over that. All right. Oh boy, I'm curious. Many parents who covered that.
This is… this week they did… they started MetaConnect. So Meta has an annual conference. I like the way this lets me scrub.
can see what's going on. other one doesn't. Why this video is so sketchy as do. Try. I'm not going to do that right now, but he's going to talk about a few things.
We're going talk about mixed reality. Events is an AI. Official intelligence. Big Sur. It's going to help us accomplish different things.
And smart glasses are going to eventually allow us to bring all of this together into a stylish form factor that we can wear all day long.
Okay, did you pick that up together? Mixed reality is where what you see here might have other things laid over it.
So if you imagine that, let's just say that this was a piece of video, whatever, you're looking inside these headsets, when I look at something it might put this in front of my eye so I can actually, I would see that.
You wouldn't, you should see my regular glasses. You'll show you in just a second. the point is that mixed reality is where you're looking at this world here that you're normally seeing, and the glasses will start obscuring bits and pieces of it.
It'll make sense in a minute if I'm not… I'm going to do a stylish form factor that we can wear all day.
But… I have my guess… Now a big part of this innovation is about making sure that these technologies are accessible to everyone.
Right? Sometimes we innovate. Alright, Mark, we're going to let you keep talking for a bit. So here's an example of…
Battery pack… reality my life up? That's going to break your sense of presence. So, when you put on Quest 3, you see the physical room around you.
Only now it is a canvas that you can bring your digital objects into the world. Quest 3, it understands your space so you can play with the world around you.
can solve LEGO puzzles or build your own creation. But we're good. surface in your room. You can play games like BAM with your friends sitting around a table, whether you're physically right there together.
Or even if they're far away. You know, people love working out in Quest. But now, if you're doing a body combat workout, the targets are going to come at you in your physical room.
Whether you're in your living room or if you're in your home gym, you're able to look around and see the room around you.
So you're going be a lot more comfortable, you know, swinging your arms and moving your body. The limits of your physical space are going to be able to expand.
So you're going be able to be a part of much larger worlds. There's one point in the Stranger Things game where you can be sitting in your living room or anywhere else and portals to the upside down open right there.
Now, these experiences are possible because Quest 3 shows your physical space with 10 times more pixels than what we had on Quest 2.
And it automatically maps the space. So now you kind of have a better idea of what mixed reality is.
And again, you can always stop and watch this entire video. But there's some more stuff I want to do to show you.
In model llama2, all in the last video from best original congrats, guys. And just going in a completely different direction.
Let's talk about AI. So this has been an amazing year for AI. At beta alone, we have launched AI models that can generate 3D video from text prompts that can create sound from images that can bring objects into VR just by looking at them, that can let you speak a different language in your own voice.
And of course, a leading open source foundation, model llama2, all in the last 12 months. But, you know, this is really just the beginning.
Because if you look across the industry and if you look at what everyone is doing, you know, most people haven't yet had the chance to experience it.
Just these LLM's are any of these AI spaces yet you know, that's a thing that I think that we can help change.
LLM is a large language learning model and what that means is that you can communicate basically with the chatbot in a very realistic way.
They can help read inOHncester or Book, explain the stories to you is it's an incredible experience. But these things are being used for all sorts of different purposes.
Today I want to talk about some of the work that we've been doing to bring the state of the R&A I into the apps that billions of people use.
Okay, why do I care about this so much? The thing is that these devices and these tools and these AI large language learning things and chatbots and things like that are incredibly addictive.
Very, very addictive. And kids are going to lose their minds to get their hands on them. And as a parent, good luck keeping your kid away from it.
So, we set a standard for open-source language models with llama2. But before today, we haven't talked that much about our image generation models.
And, you know, our team has been quietly working on these and cranking on them and they've gotten really good.
Image generation basically is where you can type into a text box and it will generate something based on what you said.
And so he's going to show you some examples of that. That's the end of the generation. So, we call it EMU for expressive media universe, continuing with our animal theme.
And just take a look at these images. Because today we're starting to roll out a bunch of products with this in it.
It's, you know, it's their high quality, photorealistic, but you know, one of coolest things that Emu generates them fast.
Right, so it's not a minute. These are, it's about five seconds to generate one of these. Which, which just makes it really fun to play with, because you can just iterate and, you know, my kids tell me it's still not fast enough, but we're, you know, it's, but five seconds kind of gets to the point where you're, you're really cooking.
Alright, so we built this into chats and we'll get to that in a moment. But first, let's talk about stickers.
Because everyday people send… Stickers! Stickers! These, I mean, these are hot. They're so hot. And hundreds of millions of stickers to express things in chats.
And, you know, every chat is a little bit different and you want… You know, subtly different emotions. But, you know, today we only have, you know, fixed…
Number, but you know with Iimu, now you have the ability to just type in what you want. You'll generate a set of custom never-before-seen stickers on the fly.
you can send them to your friends. Well, this tool that you make them really easily customizes. It's awesome. Super addictive.
We've actually, we've been testing this for a little bit and people do seem to really like this. today we're rolling it out very broadly across our different apps.
In addition to stickers, we're also bringing AI editing tools to Instagram next month. So, you know, the team dug up the spot on the
You know, turn me into a cowboy, ugly sweater party. I don't really get that one. That one's good. In an alternate world, you know, that could have been made.
Image alteration is huge and it's only going to get bigger. I know what people are using this for and the various ways is taking a picture of somebody and putting them in a compromising position, let's just say, and then using that to blackmail somebody.
I'm not saying that Meta is going to do that. That's not, and nothing to do with this stuff. I'm just trying to tell you that these things, some of them, they sound really good on the surface and then you start realizing, wait a minute, it's going to be used for other things.
they are. it's, it's, there's so, and it's indistinguishable from a real photo or fake photo. Like, it looks just like a real photo.
Or here's my crazy dog Beast. You can, let's turn him into origami. this do you. I'm I'm Poor Beast.
Straighten his air. Cross-ditch. Alright, there you go. I'm just gonna be really fun. I'm really looking forward to getting this into all of our apps.
Coming to Instagram in about a month. Pretty excited about this. Alright, so let's move on from images for a second.
know, at Meta, one of the views that we have on the development of AI that is a little bit different from the rest of the industry is, you know, we don't think that there's gonna be like one singular super intelligence that everyone interacts with.
What our view is that, you know, people are gonna want to interact with bunch of different AIs for the different things that you want to do.
And I actually think that over time, a lot of you are gonna want to make your own AIs to advance individual goals that you have.
Whether you're a small business and you want to interact with customers or you're a creator and you want to engage your community or what
Whatever it is that you do. So, we are building a platform for creating AIs that can help you get things done or just have fun.
And, you know, the way this is going to work is that people are going to be able to interact with these AIs across the whole meta-universe of products.
So, you know, of course, you'll be able to chat with them in WhatsApp and Messenger and Instagram Direct, but beyond that, they're going to have profiles and Instagram and Facebook.
And you'll be able to interact with them. And eventually, they're going to be embodied as avatars and live and be able to interact with them in the metaverse too.
And we're going to open this platform up for developers and more use cases soon. I'm really looking forward to seeing what all of you build.
But even before that, we have been creating a bunch of AIs ourselves and we're going to start rolling these out in beta today and ramping that a bit over the next couple of days.
. Let's meet some of them. Alright, first up, we've got MetaAI. MetaAI is your basic assistant, that you can talk to you like a person.
You can message MetaAI and any of messaging apps, WhatsApp, Direct. Soon you're going to be to message it in Quest 3, and it's going to help you answer your basic questions or requests.
It is based on, it's built with a model that's based on Loma2, but in addition, it also has access to real-time information and broader knowledge through a partnership that we've done with Microsoft and Bing's Search.
So here you can see, you ask a question, it has access to real-time information, it can point you towards that, it can point you towards search results.
Our new image generation model, IMU, is also built directly into MetaAI, so you can just message it and tag anything with Imagine.
And it will generate high quality photorealistic images right there in the chat in seconds for free. So pretty excited about that.
And another neat feature of this is that you can invoke MetaAI in any chat. So it doesn't just have to be MetaAI's, you know, your thread with them.
You can do it in group chats, right? You just start your message with MetaAI and it's going to respond.
And we've been testing this internally. And it is really fun to just generate fun, photos or, you know, settle debates really quickly or just, you know, whatever it is that you want to do.
But it's super convenient. All right, so I'm going MetaAI. It's our basic assistant. It's going to be really useful.
We're going to focus over the coming months and years on building this out into a deeper and deeper personal assistant with more integrations across everything we do.
And I'm missing to be a big deal. But in addition to this, we have also been experimenting with creating some AIs that are a bit more fun.
That have some more personality, opinions, interests, just a little more interactive and fun to play with. So, let's check this out.
So let's say you're planning dinner, you got Max the sous chef, who can help you come up with a recipe and help you come up with ideas.
Notice if you want to find a way to sneak some broccoli into your kid's dinner. Max has got you.
You know, let's say you add too much salt to the recipe, you can help you balance it out. Alright?
Or let's say, you know, you're writing something like a keynote and you're not really sure where to get started.
You can ask Lily, or personal editor AI, who can help you brainstorm and share tips. Or you can give her a bunch of the text that you've written and she can help you edit it and make it.
Better or maybe you're traveling and you're trying to plan a road trip with your kids. You've got Lorena, who's going to be able to help you find the best barbecue on the road trip or find a good national park or a beautiful spot to take the kids.
So there you go, that's a few of them. These are just a few of the AIs that we've trained so far.
There are a lot more that are coming. And they're going to spend all kinds of different interests from gaming, to fashion, to philosophy.
I just want to say that this is going to be something that's going to absolutely big world. Having personalized little AIs, avatars that are going to be able to work with you and help you like that, it's absolutely going to change the world.
I don't see how you can beat kids away from themselves. Philosophy, all kinds of fun stuff. the important thing here is that this isn't just going to be about answering queries.
This is about entertainment and… And about helping you do things to connect with the people around you and helping you accomplish the things that you want across whatever your different goals are.
because we thought that, you know, this should feel fun and it should feel familiar. We did something a little bit different for us.
And we partnered with a bunch of pretty awesome people to basically embody these and play them. So, let's say you want to get in shape.
Well, this is Victor played by Dwayne Wade. And he's going to pull together a workout plan for you and get you motivated.
And the good thing about Victor is he is there anytime that you want to get a workout in. So, you don't have to schedule a session or something like that.
And he is always going to be encouraging you to hit your goals. All right. Let's say you're trying to pull together Halloween costumes for your family.
Well, you got Dylan played by a lower DIY. I was got you covered on craft. So, you know, my daughter really wanted me to be Dumbledore and kind of struggling with the beard thing.
So you got Dylan and she helped me work this out. But then I this other problem which is my other daughter doesn't want to go with the Harry Potter theme.
She just wants to be an apple. So I'm like, all right, how do I fit this into the theme?
I think that's actually a pretty good idea. So, all right, send me out. So that's Dylan. Okay. let's say…
I want to play a role-playing game. Well, now you can just drop the dungeon master into one of your chats and let's check this guy out.
Let's get me to play out. I mean, who hasn't wanted to play a text, know, adventure game with Snoop Dogg?
Oh man. So, it's good. The expressions are good. We've got voice coming over the couple of months, early next year or something like that.
But this is, this is pretty fun to play with. Notice that he just kind of calmly threw out, we've got voice coming next year.
You know, that may not seem like that big of a deal. just a couple of little syllables that he threw out there.
what he really said was, we're going to have branded voices that are going to speak to you exactly as if it is that person.
So, it will sound like Snoop Dogg is actually having this conversation with you. it is all done through electronics and trickery.
And we talked earlier a little bit about image generation and that That's being used to trick people and if you think pictures are bad when you hear your child's voice coming through your phone and it's not your child.
That's not good, man. You be aware that this stuff is coming. You know, at this point in the keynote, I was kind of thinking, you know, we could do an audible.
You want a live demo? Hi. No, we're not going to watch an audible. going to skip that. Alright. Here we go.
This is… you can watch like all the beginning of this stuff, but I'm just going to go ahead and kind of try to jump right into it.
So here we go. So, that's… you know, I think that smart glasses are going to be an important platform for the future.
You know, not only because of the natural way to put holograms in the world so we can put digital objects in our physical space, but also…
So, because if you think about it, smart glasses are the ideal form factor for you to let an AI assistant see what you're seeing and hear what you're hearing.
And before this last year's AI breakthroughs, you know, I kind of thought that smart glasses were only really going to become ubiquitous once we really dialed in, you know, the holograms and the displays and all of that stuff, which we're making progress on.
But it's somewhat longer. But now, you know, I think that the AI part of this is going to be just as important in smart glasses being widely adopted as any of the other augmented reality features.
Yep. Now, we were… before even any of these AI advances came up, we started planning this product. And before all of that, we built in one more feature into these smart glasses that we thought would be pretty awesome.
And that is that for the first time, you are going to be able to livestream to your friends and followers.
From your glasses. Woo hoo! And now… So, what does that mean? Live-dream from your glasses. It means that your glasses are going to be a broadcast camera that you can post online.
So anything that you're looking at can be being posted online. somebody might not realize that you're actually sitting there with camera on them and you're broadcasting this stuff live.
And that means, you know, serious concerns or privacy issues. And I was chatting about this with Rocco, who is the head of wearables that are partnering and making these S-Loor Locksodica.
And I asked him, like, hey, you have any ideas for who would be a good person to take these for a test drive?
And I think he had a good idea. So let's go check this out. Hey, better. Good Charles, calling… Charles on WhatsApp.
is a lot more going on in this conference. Is my friend Melissa?overed by filmed a book by Melissa has actually donated to Radikalen for the long time.
She's been a supporter, so I really appreciate her. Alright, I don't want to go too much further into all that stuff, but what I really wanted to share with you is my concern that you, as a parent, you as an educator, are you as a community member, understand the technology that is being…
that's happening and moving forward right here in front of you, and this stuff is moving really, really quickly. If you are a parent and you want to have your…
if you're parent and you want to be having your… having an understanding of what's going on with your kid, you need to understand AI, image generation, man, and all of these things, and know what's happening.
There are… So many devices, so many programs that are out there that you may not understand, and it's only going to get more confusing.
You're going to be seeing people that aren't real. You're going to be hearing people that aren't real. You're going to be watching video of people that aren't real.
And all these things can be used to trick you, or to trick your kids, or to trick your elderly.
There are already tons of articles that are out there, I have them on the knowledge vault that we talked about, people being fooled, because they thought that somebody was somebody else.
Like they thought that their daughter was in trouble, so somebody had captured some of their daughter's voice, and utilized that voice, and turned it into an AI voice, asking for their daughter's bank account, bank account number, because they were in a big hurry, and they to be
I think these are horrendous things. So just be aware that things are about to change dramatically. Alright, wonder if I have anything else that I really wanted to share with you guys.
No, I think that's about it. Really appreciate your help, appreciate your support. Make sure you stay awesome, be good.
Be good to each other, be good to yourself, get sleep, etc. and I will see you later on the next time.

We'll see you soon, Dave. Here's to the fearless advocate who'd dare to be different. relentless fighters, the chingvians against human trafficking, the unsung heroes in the shadows.
They are the ones who perceive the world through a different lens. They reject the confines of the societal norms and regulations.
They challenge the status quo without a wavering determination. The voices may be quoted, opinions disputed, and their character both praised and criticized.
But one thing is, sir, they cannot be overlooked.
How else can one look at a victim and envision the liberation or listen to the silence of suffering and compose an anthem of hope or gaze upon a dark underworld and see a battle.
For Justice, we stand beside these exceptional individuals. While someday deem them as eccentric ones, we recognize their brilliance because those who possess the audacity to believe they can end human trafficking are the ones who ultimately achieve it.
