When a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one strange little girl.

Starring: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown. Creators: The Duffer Brothers.

Stranger Things is a popular science fiction-horror web television series created by the Duffer Brothers and released on Netflix. The show is set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, and follows a group of young friends who encounter supernatural forces and government conspiracies. The show has been praised for its nostalgia, acting, and direction, and has become a cultural phenomenon. It has been renewed for a fourth season.

The popularity of the television series Stranger Things has led some people to draw connections between the show and the satanic panic of the 1980s. The satanic panic was a period of widespread fear and panic over supposed satanic ritual abuse and devil worship, which was often fueled by sensationalized media reports and false accusations. Although Stranger Things is set in the 1980s and features elements of horror and the supernatural, it does not directly address the satanic panic and is not meant to be a commentary on it. The show’s creators have stated that they were inspired by the works of Stephen King and other horror writers from the 1980s, but that they did not have the satanic panic specifically in mind when creating the show.
