REVIEW: PACT College Training Program online course from SACTEDU.ORG

Summary

Cost:

Assessment-based Certificate: Yes. You must pass a reasonable test to earn the certificate.

Interactivity: The course proceeds from start to finish through videos that ask you to keep keep track of your thoughts and answers on a piece of paper, keeping you engaged with a physical object during the course. I found myself being more interested in writing things down than I would have expected!

There were no interactive learning areas where you could “practice” with the material. As a user, I never got the opportunity to see if I really understood the material before the final assessment. I'd choose an answer and it would move forward, no matter what I chose. I never felt as if I was being ‘taught.' Maybe corrective feedback was so slick I missed it!

Far better than nothing, but it's still not experiential learning.

Duration: I ran the videos at 1.5 speed and didn't stop very much and it looks like it clocked in at 1 hour.

Review: The course includes many good videos, scripted and read by youth. Everything is completely believable and genuine. The quality of the materials and are on par with the top data and research of which I am aware. There's a wide variety of speakers providing very coherent sections and lessons. The videos even stop and ask you for answers as you go, causing you to have to think about the material more than if they'd run completely through. There are no interactive learning (practice) or activities.

There are no subtitles on the videos.

Bottom line, this is among the top courses educating people about human trafficking. It's interesting, somewhat interactive, and really focuses on the HUMAN side of human trafficking, the vulnerabilities that can lead us toward becoming victims.

If you watch the , you'll see the standing ovation at the end. It's that good, guys!
