Campaign launched against girl child trafficking. – Daily Pioneer

An programme was organized by Sahyogini at Patki Utkramit High School located in Petarwar block against girl here on Tuesday. While the incident of child trafficking is a big challenge of our society and awareness is most necessary to stop it.  Trafficking cases are coming more on the pretext of getting married or working in the village.

In such a sequence, the schoolgirls made the students aware by staging a street play on girl child trafficking.  During the programme Shushila Sonewal, State Coordinator of Save Village Program said that we have to first keep our village safe and everyone needs to be aware regarding child trafficking.

The “Save Village” programme is organized with the aim that the village should be safe in case of child trafficking and children should not be sent out in the name of work and marriage through any kind of broker or middleman.  For this, local public representatives and enlightened people will have to work together.

However  Gautam Sagar, director of Sahyogini, said that if there is a case of child trafficking or violation of child rights, anywhere, if any case is seen, then immediately call the toll number Child Line.

Action will start on the matter within a few hours of making the complaint.  During this, Suryamani Devi discussed the prevention of and the legal aspects related to it, POCSO Act, child labor and many other points.

At the same time, she said that the incidents of child trafficking are increasing rapidly in the last few years.  Awareness is necessary to stop this.  The effort of Sahyogini and Operation Red Alert in this regard is commendable.

Giving detailed information in the context of child rights, Kumari Kiran said that children and villagers would be greatly benefited by such awareness programs in every school regarding the rights of children.

Whoever sees such a suspicious person, immediately inform the toll free number of the local administration, Operation Red Alert or Child Line.

To prevent this kind of incident, everyone needs to be aware, so that the life of the children can be safe.  During the programme, school children also took an oath to stop trafficking.  Apart from this, by giving information about Child Line's service 1098 to all the children, he said that in any kind of trouble for the children, Child Line helps day and night.  Ravi Kumar, Usman Ansari, Headmaster Sukhdev Manjhi, Akhileshwar Prasad, Sugan Ram, Manoj Ram, Anjali Devi, Praveen Kumar Nayak, Suryanath Kisku, Naseem Ansari, Kavita Devi were present on the occasion.
