TRAPPED: A VR Detective Story receives video recommendation from subject matter expert, Dr. LaTienda Pierre, from Louisiana State University

Appleseed Program boxes allow you to experience the immersion

We are fortunate to have wonderful people taking Appleseed boxes with TRAPPED: A VR Detective Story pre-loaded on VR headsets across America. One of those headsets made it to the desk of LSU Shreveport‘s Dr. LaTienda Pierre

Here's the and a transcript.

“Tell me about your experience. It was a great experience. I have 16 years in . And out of those 16 years, about 12 of them were spent dealing with cases that focus on domestic violence, , , and human trafficking. So seeing this and actually going through the experience of assimilation of what a victim of human trafficking goes through…

It's very real and the storyline is very authentic. And it actually aligns with what you see in a lot of these types of incidents where young girls and boys are trafficked and these are experiences they go through: the Phase, it was spot on the grooming phase explaining how she was trafficked, into on down to the family dynamics that tend to take place and what type of children, young people, are actually more vulnerable or susceptible to being put into these type of positions of being trafficked.

So I really enjoyed the simulation and was a great experience and I definitely recommend that it's something that continues to be taught and brought into education environments as well as First Responders because they definitely need to have this type of training available to these types of tools available to them.

Tell me who you are? My name is Dr. LaTienda Pierre. I'm the graduate coordinator for LSU Shreveport and I am also retired law enforcement 16 years. Awesome. Thank you so much. You're welcome.”
