Trauma

Trauma is a psychological or emotional response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event, such as a natural disaster, an accident, or a act of violence. Trauma can affect individuals, families, and communities, and can have both short-term and long-term effects. Symptoms of trauma can include shock, anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and difficulty sleeping or concentrating. Trauma can also have physical effects, such as increased heart rate or blood pressure.
