Hunger

Hunger is a state of prolonged and severe food insecurity that can lead to malnutrition, illness, and death. It is a complex and multifaceted problem that is driven by a range of factors, including poverty, climate change, conflict, and inequitable access to resources. Hunger affects millions of people around the world, particularly in developing countries.

Hunger and human trafficking:
Hunger and poverty can make people vulnerable to human trafficking, as they may be desperate for work or other opportunities to support themselves and their families. In some cases, people may be trafficked for labor in the agricultural sector or other industries related to food production. Women and girls may also be trafficked for sexual exploitation as a means of survival. Addressing the root causes of hunger, including poverty and inequality, is critical to preventing and addressing human trafficking. Efforts to promote food security, economic development, and access to education and healthcare can help to reduce vulnerability to trafficking.
