The Los Angeles Dream Center “Make 30 Matter” Campaign – Missions Box

LOS ANGELES — Ahead of “Giving Tuesday,” The Los Angeles Dream Center is kicking off its “Make 30 Matter” campaign, hoping to help the citizens of Los Angeles overcome steep financial hurdles heading into 2023. With inflation currently at 7.7%, 14.2% of LA County residents living below the poverty line, homelessness up 4.1% in the city, and over 700,000 residents struggling with substance abuse disorder, the Dream Center's staff and volunteers are looking to become a backstop against economic headwinds.

The Los Angeles Dream Center is kicking off its “Make 30 Matter” campaign to help the citizens of Los Angeles overcome financial hurdles.“Our lives are filled with trivial distractions every day, so I hope that Americans don't miss the very real needs of the average family right now,” said Dream Center co-founder Matthew Barnett. “Anyone willing to part with $30 could have the satisfaction of helping a single mom feed her children, a homeless veteran find a bed to sleep in, a young man battling addiction, and many others who are desperate for a second chance. A one-time or monthly gift of $30 would go a long way to offering hope and rebuilding lives.”

Thirty dollar contributions will go towards a variety of Dream Center initiatives, including:

1.) Food and essential that serve 45,000 people on average each month via:

  • A Community kitchen
  • Food pantry
  • Mobile food bank
  • intervention

2.) Empowerment through education that combats homelessness with:

  • skills training
  • Transitional housing for families & individuals

3.) Restoration and transformation for addiction via:

  • Mentorship
  • Job training
  • An emergency shelter
  • Recovery transitional housing programs

Matthew Barnett is available for media interviews to discuss why this Giving Tuesday offers a critically important opportunity to help those in Los Angeles who are struggling emotionally and economically today. Please reach out [email protected] to speak with Matthew.
