Santa Clarita Unit – SCV Human Trafficking Prevention Summit (3 CEU) on September 29

This is a hybrid event but CEUs will only be granted for those who attend in person. 

Please join the Santa Clarita Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, Santa Clarita NASW, College of the Canyons, Henry Mayo Hospital, Child and Family Center, Zoe, Saving Innocence, and Higher Ground in the SCV Human Trafficking Summit on September 29 for a CEU presentation and panel discussion dedicated to raising and combatting human trafficking.

This course will include a comprehensive review of human trafficking including identifying signs of trafficking such as tactics of exploiters, trauma-informed engagement and awareness of victim-sensitive language when interacting with suspected victims of trafficking; encountering resistance to help; advocacy, community education efforts, and accessing relevant . Experts, survivors, and community members will come together to share insights, stories, and strategies to prevent human trafficking. Don't miss this opportunity to learn, connect, and take action against this global issue.

This event is free to attend! Space is reserved for 50 registrants. The deadline to register is September 22.

Learning objectives:

  • Identify signs of human trafficking, including recognizing grooming tactics of exploiters
  • Gain an increased understanding of victims not identifying as “victims” and potential resistance to help
  • Build insight into trauma-informed engagement, including becoming familiar with victim-sensitive language when interacting with potential victims of trafficking
  • Identify resources in the community for support, information, and engagement

CEU Provider Statement: Course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, provided by NASW-CA.
