Choate Construction Company announced it will be a presenting sponsor, along with Delta Airlines, of the 2022 Street Grace 5K on October 15th-16th.

“Choate's sponsorship and support is a key factor in the work to help protect vulnerable children from predators and bring freedom and restoration to those who have been exploited,” said Camila Zolfaghari, Street Grace Executive Director. “We are grateful for those like Choate who are joining us to run for freedom and enable this work to continue.”

Headquartered in Atlanta, Street Grace was founded in 2009 by leaders of Atlanta's faith community in response to the rising presence of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) in the city. Since then, the organization has made exceptional progress with a growing network of more than 100 churches, 75 community partners and more than 2,500 volunteers and an expanded presence in Texas, Tennessee and California. In its 5th year, the annual 5K race now includes runners from 32 states.

The terrifying reality is that any child or teen with a device can potentially be groomed by a sex trafficker, even in the safety of their own home,” said Millard Choate, Board Chair of Street Grace and an Executive Officer at Choate Construction Company. “The training and education provided by Street Grace empowers students and educators who may find themselves on the frontlines of human trafficking.”

In 2020, Street Grace and Georgia Cares of Atlanta announced a merger to amplify efforts to fight child in the state.

Approximately 374 girls are commercially sexually exploited each month in Georgia. The average age of entry into the commercial sex market for girls is 12 -14. 12,400 men in Georgia pay for sex with a young woman each month and 7,200 of them end up exploiting an adolescent female.  Choate is proud to be a leader in reducing these numbers – no child should ever have to live with this trauma for the rest of their lives.
