NKY car dealership owner indicted on human trafficking charges: Sheriff’s Office

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WXIX) – A Boone County man has been indicted after allegedly trafficking a minor and an adult, according to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron.

Jason Marley, 51, subjected the two victims to , Cameron's office explained.

In 2021, the Boone County Sheriff's Office Crime Suppression Unit began investigating after a complaint alleged Marley's car dealership could be involved in criminal activity regarding vehicle titles, the sheriff's said.

Another complaint followed which said Marley might be involved in illicit sexual activity with women, the sheriff's office said. One of the women was a minor.

The information investigators received claimed the women were being exchanged for illegal drugs.

The Crime Suppression Unit interviewed the victims and their stories lined up with the information from the complaints, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

“[Marley] was also indicted for the unlawful possession of methamphetamine, knowingly inducing a minor to engage in illegal activity involving a controlled substance, and forgery,” the attorney general wrote in a release.

Marley was indicted on the following charges:

  • Human Trafficking-Commercial Sexual Activity/Minor
  • Human Trafficking-Commercial Sexual Activity
  • Unlawful Transaction with a Minor First Degree-Controlled Substance
  • Forgery
  • Possession of Controlled Substance First Degree

Marley was arrested on Wednesday and is now being held on a $1 million bond, the sheriff's office said.
