Indian American’s speech at St. Thomas University on 2022 Human Trafficking Academy leaves people aghast in America

International inspirational survivor-advocate Harold Henry D'Souza was invited by St. Thomas University at Miami, Florida to lecture at their event on; ‘2022 Human Trafficking Academy' subject Migration and Human Trafficking Tracing Root Causes & Seeking Intentional Solutions.

Dr. Roza Pati, Founder & Director, at The John J. Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy, founded the Academy in 2010.

From 2012-2017, the Human Trafficking Academy has been sponsored by St. Thomas University College of Law's LL.M./J.S.D. Program in Intercultural Human Rights, and in 2017, the late John J. Brunetti, a successful businessman and philanthropist, donated a generous gift to the Academy.

Crusader Harold D'Souza was emotionally on fire during his presentation.  Harold said; ‘This is just the ‘Tip of the Iceberg' of my journey from slavery to success, hurt to happiness, pain to pleasure, and fear to freedom.

This auspicious event was hosted at the prestigious St. Thomas University, Miami, Florida from July 25 -29, 2022.

Today, Harold D'Souza is a living role model world-wide on how to create your own future from ground zero. Harold spoke; ‘I am a common man, failure and sinner. I failed on 4 P's: I failed as a parent, provider, protector, and as a person, but I flipped the 4 P's into: passion, purpose, prayers, and power. In my journey from slavery to stigma, and sorrow to smile, I turned obstacles into opportunities'.

St. Thomas University was founded in 1961 as Biscayne College by the order of the Augustinian Friars. Through continued growth and development, Biscayne College earned university status in 1984 after the addition of 10 Master degree programs and the opening of the School of Law. The University came under the sponsorship of the Archdiocese of Miami in 1988, conferring upon St. Thomas the distinction of being the only Catholic Archdiocesan sponsored university in the State of Florida. When University status was attained, the name of the institution was changed to St. Thomas University to reflect its Cuban heritage.

Ambassador Rakesh Shah during his visit to United States of America said; “You are a magician my loving friend Harold D'Souza. Your honesty, broad heart, cool nature and strong will power proves that – People who meet you get mesmerized. And so, they get inspired and love to join your mission for noble cause. I wish more and more people to join Eyes Open International to end modern slavery and solve trafficking issues. Together we can and we will get 100% success. Vande Mataram”.

Common man doing uncommon things globally, Harold D'Souza is a native of Bajpe, Mangalore. Dancy and Harold D'Souza are the Co-founders of Eyes Open International focused on prevention of Human Trafficking Worldwide.

Harold's philosophy of life is; ‘Survivors are poor starters but strong finishers. Be happy, think positive, never quit, and believe in yourself. Failure is the path to success. Don't worry be happy'.
