Thanks to the efforts of Consorcio ECPAT Bolivia, government officials in Bolivia are now enrolled in the Agents of Change program, to learn how to better support child victims of sexual exploitation.

ECPAT International is pleased to share that the Pluri-National Council to End Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children, in Bolivia, has enrolled in the Agents of Change program.

In 2021, ECPAT and International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children joined forces to develop the Agents of Change Program, a e-learning training series for frontline professionals working with child victims and survivors of sexual exploitation. The three-level course provides the knowledge and tools needed to adequately support and engage with child victims of sexual exploitation.

We commend the Bolivian authorities for their commitment to enhancing the knowledge of frontline workers on how to better address child sexual exploitation and to work from a victim-centred approach.

ECPAT would also like to thank Consorcio ECPAT Bolivia for their efforts in actively promoting the course among , judiciary, and child protection institutions in Bolivia.

At the virtual launch event of the Agents of Change course in Bolivia, organised by the National Council on Trafficking, Fabio González, Senior Project Officer at ECPAT International, spoke about the benefits of the course for frontline workers in the field of child sexual exploitation. He said:

“The COVID-19 Pandemic has exacerbated many existing challenges for child victims and survivors accessing justice. It is our responsibility as frontline professionals to be better prepared to understand the unique requirements for child victims and survivors of sexual exploitation.”

The Agents of Change course is a great opportunity for all professionals working around the world speaking either English, Spanish, French, Russian or Portuguese, serving on the frontlines of the fight against sexual exploitation of children. Anyone can access it for free, at any time and from any device with access to internet.
