This is “Pálpito”, the new Latin Netflix production that delves into the dark world of organ trafficking

In “Pálpito” you will discover that there is a side of love that nobody told you about, a dark side that can lead to the worst. For Zechariah, Simon and Camilla the consequences of their actions do not matter because they are following their hearts. (Netflix)

The plot begins with the murder of Simon's wife to take his heart and transplant it to the partner of a powerful millionaire. In search of revenge, Simon enters the dark world of organ trafficking to learn all the secrets of organ trafficking, as well as finding and making those responsible pay. However, in his frantic search, fate will make him fall in love with Camila, the woman who survived thanks to the heart of his murdered wife. The climax will come when both discover the truth.

The first season of this audiovisual story has 14 episodes, each more than 45 minutes long. The show was created and written by Leonardo Padrón and directed by Camilo Vega, under the executive production of Clara María Ochoa and Ana Piñeres.

In Pálpito there are no limits to safeguard a romance that has its days numbered. A story of love and revenge that shows a heart struggling to follow its instinct, while discovering a dark and complex network of organ sales. The line between love and evil is so thin and blurred, that the dark side of the heart floats up.

The plus that should be highlighted in this series is that it goes beyond the trite topics with which they almost always refer to Colombia, such as drug trafficking; and it focuses more on other problems that are not dealt with, one of them, trafficking in organs. Its cast is full of stars from the region such as Michel Brown, Sebastián Martinez, Margarita Muñoz, Moisés Arizmendi, Valeria Emiliani, Julián Cerati, Juan Fernando Sánchez, Mauricio Cujar and Jacqueline Arenal.

How much real data are there in the series on organ trafficking?

According to the director, the team of writers had medical advisors and researchers who credibly captured the reality of organ trafficking networks, and every detail they will see in Pálpito was investigated in depth to responsibly deliver a series that leaves a sensitive topic on the table and of which he believes it was necessary to talk.

For Zechariah, Simon and Camilla the consequences of their actions do not matter because they are following their hearts. And the Latino and, above all, Colombian audiences are still waiting for the premiere of this series with the label “made in Colombia”, which will take place on April 20, according to Netflix announced.
