Victim Service

Victim services refer to a range of programs and support systems designed to assist individuals who have experienced crime, abuse, or trauma. The primary goal of victim services is to provide immediate and ongoing support to help individuals recover from the impact of victimization.

Victim services can include crisis intervention, counseling, legal advocacy, assistance with compensation claims, and referrals to other resources. They are typically provided by government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other community-based organizations.

Victim services can also provide support during the criminal justice process, such as helping individuals understand their rights and the court process, providing accompaniment to court proceedings, and assisting with protection orders. The ultimate aim of victim services is to empower victims to rebuild their lives and restore their sense of safety and security.
