The Texas Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the state of Texas, responsible for providing legal advice and representation to state agencies, officials, and the public. The attorney general oversees a range of legal matters, such as consumer protection, environmental regulation, and law enforcement.

The office of the Texas Attorney General also plays a role in combating human trafficking, by coordinating with law enforcement agencies, conducting investigations, and prosecuting traffickers.
