Non-profit organizations rely on funding from various sources, such as donations, grants, and sponsorships, to support their operations. They are typically governed by a board of directors or trustees who are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities and making decisions about its direction and priorities.

Non-profit organizations play a vital role in many communities around the world, providing important services and addressing important social issues. Many people choose to volunteer their time or donate money to non-profit organizations in order to support the causes they care about.

Human trafficking, often categorized by sex and labor trafficking, is widespread in the United States. Victims of human trafficking can come from any background, however according to the U.S. Department of Justice, 94% of sex trafficking victims are female, 40% are Black, and 24% are Latinx. And in South Dakota, where Native American women are only 8% of the population, they represent 40% of sex trafficking victims. These statistics are staggering.
