Lived Experience

Lived experience refers to the personal experiences of an individual, particularly those that have a direct impact on their life and well-being. In the context of human trafficking, lived experience may refer to the experiences of a person who has been trafficked, such as the circumstances leading up to their trafficking, the abuses they endured, and their journey to recovery. Lived experience can also refer to the experiences of people who are at risk of being trafficked, such as those who are living in poverty, have experienced abuse or trauma, or lack access to education and other opportunities. Lived experience can provide valuable insights and perspectives on the realities of human trafficking, and can inform efforts to prevent and combat this crime.
