Guam

Guam is an island territory of the United States located in the western Pacific Ocean. It is the largest and southernmost of the Mariana Islands and is the largest island in Micronesia. The island is located about 3,400 miles southwest of Hawaii and 1,500 miles east of the Philippines. The capital of Guam is Hagåtña, and the island has a population of around 170,000 people.

Guam has a long history of colonization and has been ruled by a number of different powers, including Spain, Japan, and the United States. It was ceded to the United States in 1898 as a result of the Spanish-American War and was officially organized as a territory in 1950. Today, Guam is an important location for the United States military, with a number of bases and facilities located on the island. It is also a popular tourist destination, with a number of resorts and attractions, including beaches, museums, and historical sites.
