Federal Court

A federal court is a court that is established by the federal government of a country and has jurisdiction over cases involving federal law. In the United States, the federal court system is divided into three levels: the district courts, which are the trial courts; the courts of appeals, which hear appeals from the district courts; and the Supreme Court, which is the highest court in the country. Federal courts have jurisdiction over cases that involve federal laws, such as crimes committed on federal property or cases involving interstate commerce. They also have jurisdiction over cases involving the federal government, such as disputes between the government and individuals or businesses. Federal courts operate independently of the states and are not part of the state court system.
