AG teaming with Kentucky Venues on human trafficking awareness

FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) – Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Kentucky Venues CEO David S. Beck said Thursday that they have joined forces to raise about human trafficking during the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville.

Kentucky Venues, which operates the Kentucky Exposition Center at the State Fairgrounds, as well as the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville, is partnering with the Attorney General's Office by featuring a one-minute designed to help Kentuckians recognize and report the signs of human trafficking in Kentucky.

In preparation for the Kentucky State Fair, Kentucky Venues will also partner with the AG's Office to train employees to recognize and report the signs of human trafficking. This is the second training Cameron's office has provided for Kentucky Venues as part of the ongoing “Your Eyes Save Lives” statewide human trafficking awareness campaign.

“We are pleased to partner with Kentucky Venues CEO David S. Beck to raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking at the National Farm and Machinery Show and educate Kentucky Venues employees interacting with potentially millions of visitors at the Kentucky State Fair on how to respond,” Cameron said.  “Human trafficking is a problem in Kentucky, and it will take all of us working together to put an end to it.”

Beck noted, “Our team at the Kentucky Exposition Center and Kentucky International Convention Center interact with millions of guests each year and we are eager to participate in putting an end to human trafficking in the Commonwealth. We appreciate the continued support and made available by Attorney General Cameron's office to assist our team in this effort.”

The Your Eyes Saves Lives campaign was launched in 2021 by Cameron and utilizes citizens, , and community leaders to recognize and report the signs of human trafficking. The campaign was funded by a grant from the U.S. , Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
