Phillips Ph.D. and Dorchester County Children's Advocacy Center CSEC Program Coordinator Nicole Hoffman.

The Berkeley County Council formally recognized members of the Tri-County Trafficking Task Force, the Dorchester Children's Advocacy Center and Charleston County during the governing body's Jan. 9 public meeting at the Berkeley County Administrative Building in Moncks Corner.

Newly-minted County Councilmember John Marshall West (pictured at far left) read the contents of a proclamation against human trafficking before presenting it to the organization reps on hand.

The document proclaimed January 2023 as “Human Trafficking Month in Berkeley County,” and stated that County government is “committed to promoting the well-being of all its residents by protecting the vulnerable through prevention education and awareness.”
