Outreach program launched to help women, children victims of sexual abuse – Khmer Times

Lum Kuntheary, Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom Province, participated in the outreach program launched to help women and children who are victims of sexual abuse.

The outreach program was joined by more than 400 people from Bdeak village Phan Nhem commune, Prasat Balong district, Kampong Thom. The event was held yesterday morning.

Yin Bunrath, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Labour and Vocational Training, said that it is necessary to increase educational activities through all means, including broadcasting on radio, television, , and disseminating education through public forums on policy to keep villages safe.

In the past 10 months, according to the report compiled by the Secretariat from the six working groups and partner organizations, a total of 223 live outreach activities, with a total of 17,057 participants, 11,690 females, were launched.

In the first half of 2022, the situation of human trafficking has improved, with the crime rate significantly reduced compared to 2021, Kuntheary said.

The general situation has improved and the activities to prevent and suppress crimes against human trafficking, and have resulted in new crimes in the territory of the Kingdom of Cambodia due to traffickers looking for ways to evade arrest.
