Holiday event to fundraise for fight against human trafficking

STROLL Old Village is hosting a family-friendly, holiday-themed event that also seeks to bring awareness to human trafficking through partner organization Atlas Free.

The holiday event at Alhambra Hall on Dec. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. will feature an open fire pit with s'mores, kids activities from Beach Cowboy Fitness and holiday music throughout the event. Adult drinks include custom cocktails by Brown-Forman, vintage wines by Charleston Wine Awhile and brews from Palmetto Brewing Co. There will also be food available.

Representatives from Atlas Free, Homeland Security, and several Mount Pleasant community leaders will share how important the community's involvement and donations help impact the lives of those subjected to human trafficking.

All proceeds from the event go towards Atlas Free's fight against human trafficking. Event organizers want guests to come prepared to have fun, but more importantly, consider making a voluntary donation during the event that will help restore those subjected to exploitation. Atlas Free fights human trafficking from multiple approaches, including litigation, local law enforcement, safe houses, rehabilitation and education.
