Suspect facing multiple felony charges in connection with human trafficking ring along Treasure Coast

Daniel Rhodes, 42, is facing multiple felony charges, including manslaughter, in connection with a multi-year human trafficking ring across hotels and motels on the Treasure Coast.

Rhodes is currently serving a prison sentence in Trenton for selling methamphetamine and soliciting prostitution. He was scheduled to be released before Christmas, but now he is facing new charges.

According to agents with the Florida Department of , Rhodes used drugs to threaten and force women into prostitution. He is also accused of giving a lethal dose of fentanyl and cocaine to a 27-year-old victim in Port St. Lucie.

Rhodes is expected to be arraigned in St. Lucie County and could face life in prison if convicted on the new charges.
