Calgary man accused of human trafficking, wanted on Canada-wide warrant

Tevin Laramee-Watson is charged with exploiting women for financial benefit from sexual services, as well as assaulting and threatening one of his victims.

Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a Calgary man suspected of being involved in human trafficking.

Officials with Alberta Response Teams' human trafficking unit say Tevin Laramee-Watson is charged with exploiting women for financial benefit from sexual services, as well as assaulting and threatening one of his victims. They say the 30-year-old man recently lived in Calgary and has ties to Grande Prairie, Montreal, Winnipeg and Vancouver.

ALERT says multiple survivors have been identified since it began its investigation in February 2021.

“We want to ensure this perpetrator is located and placed in custody and we are asking for the public's help in locating him. Our greatest concern is that more women, in different cities, could be victimized,” said Staff Sgt. Colleen Bowers of ALERT Calgary.

In total, Laramee-Watson is facing 10 charges, including the following:

  • Assault causing bodily harm;
  • Uttering threats;
  • Human trafficking x2;
  • Financial benefit from human trafficking x2;
  • Communication for the purpose of obtaining, for consideration, the sexual services of a person x2; and
  • Advertising an offer to provide sexual services for consideration x2.

Anyone with information on Laramee-Watson's whereabouts is urged to call their local police or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
