Idaho Anti-Trafficking Organization Joins Forces with Radical Empathy to Allow their Communities to Experience Human Trafficking Education in Interactive Virtual Reality
MERIDIAN, Idaho – Oct. 28, 2022 – PRLog — The team at INsideOUT Cares have been working with victims, non-government organizations, and government agencies for years to equip youth to recognize signs of human trafficking, in an effort to protect them and others who are at risk.
They know what it takes to get a listener's attention.
Maglish explains, “The entire community must fight against the systemic realities that lead to human trafficking, so action is the final pillar of INsideOUT Cares. We aim to get everyone in on the fight against human trafficking.”
There are not many huge leaps in anti-human trafficking training, so when Dawn Maglish, the founder of INsideOut Cares, tried an interactive virtual reality experience at a recent training conference, she knew it had to be in their training arsenal.
TRAPPED: A VR Detective Story is the first virtual reality experience that allows you to learn from the perspective of a 14-year-old girl who was tricked into becoming a victim by someone she met online. Unfortunately, this story plays out all across America; it's not just ‘happening in other countries.'
INsideOUT Cares, an anti-trafficking organization, provides for the immediate needs of sex trafficking survivors. Through partnerships with law enforcement, task forces, legislators, local organizations, and churches, they have found, assessed, and provided support for over 80 girls.
“We are excited INsideOUT Cares has purchased a lifetime software license to bring awareness using VR to enhance education on topics in our communities,” says Dawn Maglish, INsideOUT Cares' founder.
“It is thrilling to have INsideOUT Cares on the ground in Idaho,” says Billy Joe Cain, founder of Radical Empathy. “Many people cannot believe this could happen to them or someone they know, and when they complete the 15 minute experience, their lives are changed forever.” Cain concludes, “INsideOUT Cares is there to provide help for anyone that might recognize something happening to them or someone they know.”
Maglish is working with Radical Empathy at the JuST Conference in Ft. Worth from Nov. 1-3 to meet with potential licensees of TRAPPED: A VR Detective Story.
Radical Empathy's VR software is available through a direct licensing agreement, and operates on affordable Oculus Quest VR headsets licensees purchase themselves.
