Jubilee Havens holds ‘Stop the Traffic’ color walk-run to raise awareness of human trafficking
Many gathered in D'Iberville's Town Green to participate in Jubilee Havens ‘Stop the Traffic' Color Walk.
Jubilee Havens is a group on a mission to provide safe havens for victims of human trafficking.
The walk gave people a chance to support a great cause while having fun and getting some great exercise.
All the proceeds went towards the Whistle Stop, which is a safe haven and temporary home for women rescued from human trafficking while awaiting placement in a long-term program. Vice President Yolanda Jerry said, “Without having fundraisers and donations, we wouldn't be able to do something like this to be able to help victims of human trafficking.”
Founder/Executive Director Sharon Robbins said, “We can hold five guests. We have five beds in our safe haven. We are considered the hub for partnerships that we have created over the last four years for long-term care and restoration of victims, survivors of human trafficking.”
Jubilee Havens is currently looking for legacy donors. If you would like to become a legacy donor, contact 228-860-8062 or visit their website at jubileehavens.com.
