The South Bruce OPP and Municipality of Kincardine are helping raise awareness regarding human trafficking.

A release from the OPP states that the South Bruce detachment and Kincardine worked together on applying for a grant application to “increase Human Trafficking Awareness in rural Ontario. The grant was successful, and a Human Trafficking Awareness committee was formed.” That committee has been actively engaging the community over the past 2 years. On September 2nd, members of the South Bruce OPP, South Bruce OPP Auxiliary, Municipality of Kincardine and the Human Trafficking Awareness committee set up community engagement tables where human trafficking educational materials were handed out.

Tables on human trafficking awareness were set up in Sobey's Kincardine and Kaufman's Independent Grocer in Walkerton. If you are aware of a human trafficking situation in your area, immediately contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
