Churachandpur Medical College to begin session in October | Pothashang News

The college will have 100 MBBS seats as approved by the Medical Council of India, MCI.

The minister was speaking to reporters during the inspection visit of the college at IB Road, Churachandpur, on Sunday.

He said it is fortunate that the state has added another medical college. This is the first medical college of the state which is established in the hill districts of Manipur. The visit of the newly constructed Medical college also relates with the arrangement for inauguration within a short period of time. It is now ready for inauguration, he added.

Interacting with the new faculty members, Ranjan appealed that the young doctors and faculties need to work extra miles. Their dedicated and sincere service will make it possible to achieve the aim of establishing the Medical college. It is through their better service, the young medical students will be attracted and enrolled to the college, the minister said

He paid inspection visit at different departments and sections of the college. He also discussed about the status of the departments with the concerned in-charges. Later he visited District Hospital Churachandpur and inspected the work progress of the Ultrasound and X-Ray rooms which are under renovation.

During the visit, MLA L.M Khaute stated that having a Medical college in Churachandpur is a good sign of development of the state. The college brought to this district need to be facilitated. Future of the college lies in the sincerity and hard work of the faculties and staffs, he added.
