Kidnap of 14-yr-old boy in TVM: Police suspect hand of organ trafficking gang

Parassala: Police confirmed the presence of nine suspects, most of them Tamil Nadu natives, in the abduction of a 14-year-old boy at Kottiyam in Thiruvananthapuram. Accused Biju was nabbed while rescuing the boy from a region near Tamil Nadu.

Ashik was abducted on Monday after kidnappers kept observing his house for several days by camping in a hotel near Kottiyam. The kidnappers barged into the house and attacked Ashik's sister and a few elderly women in the neighbourhood, when they attempted to stop the gang. The incident happened when the parents were not at the house.

Ashik was forced to consume a few tablets which made him unconscious.

Police could save Ashik on the same day night by strengthening the probe in search of the car with Tamil Nadu registration. Though Poovar SI Praveen spotted the car, which was heading to Tamil Nadu, he could not stop it. Later, the gang with four members split into two and the team with Ashik took an autorickshaw and attempted to escape to Tamil Nadu via Kuzhivila checkpost.

Fortunately, police could rescue Ashik from the auto and arrest Marthandam native Biju. Biju said that he was hired for carrying out the kidnap and he knows nothing about the kidnap. It has been hinted that Biju revealed the presence of a doctor and physiotherapist in the gang. Hence, police suspect the involvement of an organ trafficking gang behind the attempt of abduction.
