Jubilee Havens hosts annual Freedom Tea fundraiser for human trafficking victims – WXXV

The event helps Jubilee Havens in its mission to support human trafficking victims, giving them the best possible safe haven.

Several speakers took the stage to discuss the organization's future plans and other outreach programs.

The event also hosted a lunch with a wide variety of teas and a silent auction with a variety of items to help raise more money. Event Coordinator Leslie Ramon said, “I think it's great. I mean you know human trafficking is real. It's in our area. It's right under our nose and we don't even realize it. I didn't realize how much it was around here until I got involved. We have another fundraiser coming up in September, “Stop the Traffick Walk” that we'll be promoting here very soon, and then we got a fundraiser night at Pop's Pizza.”

The walk fundraiser will be held September 17th at the D'Iberville Town Green from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Pop's Pizzeria fundraiser is Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 at the restaurant.
