United States Department of Justice

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) is a federal executive department of the United States government, responsible for enforcing the law and administering justice. The DOJ is led by the Attorney General, who is appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The DOJ has a wide range of responsibilities, including prosecuting federal crimes, representing the United States in legal matters, and providing legal advice to the President and other executive branch agencies. The DOJ is also responsible for protecting the rights of individuals and ensuring that they are treated equally under the law. The DOJ has several components, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
