Underage

Underage refers to a person who is not of legal age to do something, such as purchase alcohol or cigarettes, vote in an election, or consent to certain activities. The age at which a person is considered to be an adult and is legally able to do these things varies by country and by activity. In many places, the age of majority, or the age at which a person is considered to be an adult under the law, is 18. However, there are some activities for which a person must be older than 18 in order to participate, such as purchasing tobacco products or gambling. It is illegal for a person who is underage to engage in certain activities, and it is also illegal for someone to provide these things to someone who is underage.
