Trauma

Trauma is a psychological or emotional response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event, such as a natural disaster, an accident, or a act of violence. Trauma can affect individuals, families, and communities, and can have both short-term and long-term effects. Symptoms of trauma can include shock, anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and difficulty sleeping or concentrating. Trauma can also have physical effects, such as increased heart rate or blood pressure. The treatment of trauma often involves a combination of therapy, medication, and support from family and friends.
