Stigma

Stigma refers to the negative attitudes, beliefs, or stereotypes that are associated with a particular group or characteristic. Stigma can be based on factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, mental health status, or other personal characteristics. Stigma can have significant negative effects on individuals and communities, including discrimination, exclusion, and reduced opportunities. Efforts to reduce stigma often involve education, advocacy, and awareness-raising campaigns.
