IOM

IOM is the acronym for the International Organization for Migration. It is an intergovernmental organization that works to promote humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. The organization was established in 1951 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. IOM is the leading international organization in the field of migration and has a presence in over 100 countries around the world.

IOM’s mandate includes providing assistance to migrants in need, including refugees, asylum-seekers, and other displaced persons. The organization works to promote the rights and well-being of migrants and to assist them with their integration into their host communities. It also provides technical assistance and support to governments and other stakeholders on issues related to migration management and policy development.

In addition to its work with migrants, IOM also works on a range of other issues related to migration, including labor migration, human trafficking, and border management. The organization is committed to promoting the benefits of migration and to addressing the challenges and complexities of contemporary migration patterns.
