Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking

An inter-agency council on trafficking is a group of organizations and agencies that work together to address the issue of human trafficking. Human trafficking is a crime that involves the exploitation of individuals for labor, sexual exploitation, or other forms of abuse. It is a global problem that affects millions of people and can take many forms, including sex trafficking, forced labor, and debt bondage.

An inter-agency council on trafficking may be established at the local, regional, national, or international level. Its members may include government agencies, non-governmental organizations, law enforcement agencies, and other organizations and individuals with an interest in combating trafficking.

The purpose of an inter-agency council on trafficking is to coordinate efforts to combat trafficking and provide support to victims. This may involve developing and implementing strategies and programs to prevent trafficking, investigating and prosecuting traffickers, and providing assistance and support to victims.

In addition to its work on enforcement and victim support, an inter-agency council on trafficking may also engage in public education and outreach to raise awareness about the issue and prevent individuals from becoming victims of trafficking.
