Indigenous People

Indigenous People are the original inhabitants of a particular region or country. They have a unique culture, language, and way of life that has been passed down through generations. Indigenous people often face challenges and discrimination due to their status as minority groups. Many indigenous communities around the world are working to preserve their cultural heritage and assert their rights as distinct peoples.

Indigenous people are among the groups most vulnerable to human trafficking due to factors such as poverty, displacement, and discrimination. Indigenous women and girls are particularly vulnerable to sex trafficking. Traffickers often prey on their vulnerability and target them for sexual exploitation. Indigenous communities are also less likely to have access to services and support for survivors.
