Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner

The Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner is a UK government position created by the Modern Slavery Act 2015. The Commissioner is responsible for overseeing the government’s efforts to combat modern slavery and human trafficking, and for providing independent advice to the UK government on these issues. The Commissioner works closely with law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and combat modern slavery and human trafficking. The first Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner was appointed in 2016. The Commissioner’s office is based in London, UK.
