Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit

A human trafficking prosecution unit is a specialized team of law enforcement and legal professionals who are tasked with investigating and prosecuting cases of human trafficking. Human trafficking is the exploitation of individuals for labor or commercial sex through the use of force, fraud, or coercion. It is a global problem that affects millions of people and is considered a form of modern-day slavery. A human trafficking prosecution unit typically works closely with other law enforcement agencies, social service providers, and victim advocacy groups to identify victims, gather evidence, and bring traffickers to justice. The unit may also provide support and assistance to victims of trafficking.
