European Commission

The European Commission (EC) is the executive branch of the European Union (EU), and is responsible for proposing and implementing EU policies. The EC is composed of 28 Commissioners, one from each member state of the EU, who are appointed by the national governments and approved by the European Parliament. The Commissioners are responsible for specific policy areas, such as trade, environment, or justice, and work together as a team to advance the interests of the EU and its citizens. The EC also plays a role in managing the EU budget, enforcing EU laws, and negotiating international agreements on behalf of the EU. The EC is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
