Empowerment

Empowerment refers to a process of providing individuals or groups with the necessary tools, resources, and skills to take control of their lives and make decisions that impact their well-being positively. The goal of empowerment is to enable people to have a sense of autonomy, self-efficacy, and agency in their lives. Empowerment can take various forms, such as social, economic, or political empowerment. For example, women’s empowerment aims to promote gender equality and ensure that women have access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making power. Similarly, community empowerment focuses on empowering communities to become self-sufficient and take control of their development. Empowerment is essential in promoting social justice and addressing inequality, discrimination, and marginalization.
