Domestic Servitude

Domestic servitude is a form of labor exploitation in which individuals are forced to work in private households, often as domestic workers or maids. Victims of domestic servitude may be required to work long hours for little or no pay, and may be subject to physical, sexual, or psychological abuse. They may also be isolated from their families and communities, and may have their movements and communications restricted. Domestic servitude is a global problem, and it can occur in both developed and developing countries. Governments and organizations around the world are working to combat domestic servitude and protect the rights of domestic workers.
