Deportation

Deportation is the process of removing a non-citizen from a country. This typically occurs when an individual is found to be in the country illegally, or has violated the terms of their legal immigration status. Deportation can also be ordered for individuals who have committed certain crimes or pose a threat to public safety. In the United States, deportation is carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a federal law enforcement agency. Deportation can have significant consequences for individuals, including separation from family and community, and loss of access to work, education, and other opportunities.
