Coronavirus

Coronavirus is a family of viruses that can cause illness, ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The virus that emerged in 2019, and has since spread globally, is called SARS-CoV-2. The disease it causes is called COVID-19. Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, and the virus is primarily spread through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person talks, coughs, or sneezes. COVID-19 has had a significant impact on global health and the economy, and efforts are ongoing to develop vaccines and treatments for the virus.
