Assam

Assam is a state in northeastern India that has been identified as a hotspot for human trafficking. The state is known for its tea industry and has a large number of migrant workers, including many children who are vulnerable to exploitation. The state government has taken steps to address trafficking, including launching a toll-free helpline for reporting cases of trafficking, establishing a task force to investigate cases, and creating a rehabilitation center for survivors. However, much more needs to be done to address the root causes of trafficking in the state.
