Walk in downtown Ventura brings awareness of human trafficking
The Soroptimist clubs of Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura joined together in Ventura Saturday for the 16th time to raise awareness of human trafficking.
Dozens of club members and supporters walked through downtown Ventura holding signs calling for an end to the practice and later gathered to learn more about the issue during a panel discussion at Columbus Hall. Soroptimists, an international service organization, aim to provide women and girls access to education and training to achieve economic empowerment.
