Romeo Pimp

A “Romeo pimp” (sometimes called a “finesse pimp”) is a type of human trafficker who uses manipulation and deception to lure victims into a trafficking situation, often pretending to be in a romantic relationship with the victim in order to gain their trust and control. This type of trafficking is sometimes referred to as “loverboy” or “relationship” trafficking. It is a tactic that traffickers may use to exploit and control their victims, and it can be particularly difficult for victims to recognize and escape from. It is important to be aware of the tactics that traffickers may use and to be cautious of anyone who tries to manipulate or control you in a relationship. If you or someone you know may be at risk of being trafficked, it is important to seek help and support from trusted friends, family, or authorities. There are also many organizations and resources available to assist victims of human trafficking.

They find pride through controlling others primarily through psychological manipulation. Although they may shower victims with affection and gifts (especially during the recruitment phase), the threat of violence is always present. They are traffickers who use fraud and deception to lure their victims in by pretending to be their boyfriend / girlfriend.
