Orphanage

Orphanages can be a site of exploitation for human trafficking. Children in orphanages may be vulnerable to trafficking because they lack a stable home environment and may be seeking attention and affection from adults. Traffickers may pose as benefactors, offering to take children out of orphanages and provide them with a better life. In some cases, orphanages may even be used as fronts for trafficking operations, with children being forced into labor or sexual exploitation. To prevent trafficking in orphanages, organizations work to improve child protection systems and promote alternative care models, such as foster care or community-based care.
